Rogue Acres

So… yeah. Sorry it’s taken so long to write this but I have a lot going on at the moment.

We have secured ourselves 40 acres and will be moving to northern Alberta at the end of September.

Yes, we know it will be cold as ….  But I’ve been wanting a hobby farm for ( pardon the pun) donkey’s years. Now, we are finally going to get to do it.

Eventually, it will take time of course, we would like chickens, rabbits, goats, pigs, donkey (great security guards) and maybe even a dairy cow!

We’ll see how it goes but we are very excited!!! Never a dull moment around here and rapidly becoming ‘never a dull fractional second around here’.

Haha, bet you didn’t see this coming!

Rogue Acres

I know it’s a lame pic but I’m writing this on my cell phone, so…

  1. Wow! That's a surprise. I hope you can get all the veg's from your garden before you leave. Good luck!

    1. Yep, we’re almost completely finished now except for the 2nd sowing of spinach, tomatoes and some brussels.

  2. Yes, some surprise! What is the draw in going so far north with winter around the corner? Can you find a doc to monitor your thyroid? Wishing you the best.

    1. It was just a great opportunity at the end of our current gardening season. Do not anticipate any trouble getting a Dr just a matter of how far away.

    1. Unfortunately we are far from free of hell but this is what I wanted to do when we moved there oh so many years ago but ‘stuff’ got in the way- now we’re finally doing it. Better late than never.

  6. Well that is a change. So much work to move though.Your home where you are now seems so perfect for you. What is your definition of northern Alberta?

  7. I have to laugh, that is not what I we Albertans call northern Alberta. Nice areas around there.
